Boston Dynamics Atlas: 2026 manufacturing fully reserved
Boston Dynamics confirmed that all 2026 production of the electric Atlas humanoid is pre-committed to existing customers. New orders are being taken for 2027 delivery with Hyundai facilities and Google DeepMind cited as the largest reserved-slot holders.
Production is ramping at the new Boston Dynamics + Hyundai assembly facility. The 2026 fully-booked status is a function of relatively modest first-year manufacturing volume rather than overwhelming demand, but the demand signal is real.
The contrast with 1X NEO is instructive: Atlas is positioned as industrial-only with low volume + high price, while NEO is positioned as consumer-targeting with higher volume + a publicly-disclosed price. Both bets coexist for now.
