Atlas will run Google DeepMind's Gemini Robotics foundation models as its onboard reasoning engine — a vertically integrated cognitive stack that no competing humanoid program currently matches.

Atlas was the second-most-watched humanoid program after Tesla Optimus heading into CES 2026; the news that no general-availability units will ship this year compresses the addressable buyer pool to Hyundai (its parent) and a single foundation-model partner (DeepMind).
