The context-window number is the headline competitive lever. 2 million tokens at the Pro tier means full-codebase reasoning, multi-document legal review, and long-horizon agentic workflows without truncation tricks. Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview and OpenAI's GPT-5.5 family both top out around 1M context for production deployments; if Pro ships near its preview benchmarks, Google will hold the frontier context-length leadership at the same time Flash already beat Gemini 3.1 Pro on coding and agentic tasks at four times the throughput.

The release window matters as much as the spec.
