The open release included repackaged bf16, INT8, pruned and NVFP4 files and six official workflow templates. Shipping four numeric formats and a set of working pipelines on day one is a different act from publishing a reference checkpoint, and it decides who can actually use the model.
A bf16 checkpoint is the model. INT8 and NVFP4 builds are the model on hardware people own. The distance between those two things has quietly become the main determinant of whether an open release has any practical effect, and most releases still leave it to the community to close over the following fortnight.
The workflow templates are the underrated half. A video model is not usable in isolation; it needs a graph of loading, conditioning, sampling and decoding steps with compatible parameters. Publishing six working configurations removes the most common reason an open release goes unused, which is that nobody outside the lab can get it to produce the demo.
Pruned variants are the interesting inclusion because pruning is lossy and publishing one is an admission that some users would rather have a smaller degraded model than a correct model they cannot run. That is an accurate read of the audience.
