Open video arrives in the tool chain the same day it arrives on Hugging Face
Native ComfyUI support for H3 merged on 3 August, the same day the weights were published. A model landing in the dominant open pipeline on release day rather than weeks later is a change in how open releases reach users, and it is easy to miss because it looks like housekeeping.
Historically the sequence was: weights drop, community reverse-engineers the pipeline, support lands somewhere between one and four weeks later, and adoption starts from there. Compressing that to zero days means the practical availability curve now matches the announcement, which has not previously been true for open video.
It also indicates coordination before release. A same-day merge is not spontaneous community effort; it means the pull request existed before the weights were public. That kind of pre-arrangement between a model lab and a pipeline project is normal in closed ecosystems and comparatively new in this one.
The consequence is that the open video stack is no longer meaningfully behind on tooling — it is behind on clip length and cross-shot continuity, which are model problems rather than plumbing problems. That is a much more interesting place for a field to be stuck.
