Naïve raises $28.5M to let agents provision the company, not just the code
The startup signed more than 30,000 developer customers within months by exposing business and infrastructure setup as an API that Cursor, Claude Code and Codex can call. The pitch is that the grunt work of standing up a company is automatable by the same harness writing the software.
The interesting design choice is the interface. Naïve is not a product an agent uses through a browser — it is an API a developer's prompt reaches through an existing coding harness. That makes the agent the customer in practice, and the developer the buyer of record.
Thirty thousand developer accounts in months is a genuine adoption signal, though not a revenue one. What it demonstrates is that coding harnesses have become a distribution channel: ship an API that Claude Code and Codex can call, and you inherit their installed base without building a product surface at all.
The unresolved question is the same one hanging over every agent-executed action with real-world consequence — provisioning, spending, incorporating. Someone has to hold authorisation, and right now that layer is thin.
