Figure 03 crosses a thousand units
The newest platform passes 1,000 while Figure 02 continues in BMW manufacturing and Amazon warehouses. A thousand units of a current-generation humanoid is a small number that means more than most large ones.
Figure 03 has passed 1,000 units, with August updates showing continued production scaling. The earlier Figure 02 platform remains in service at BMW manufacturing facilities and Amazon warehouses, performing production tasks alongside human workers.
A thousand is a small number and an informative one. Humanoids fail in the field for reasons that never appear in a demonstration — grip variance, floor conditions, task edge cases, the maintenance burden of a machine with dozens of actuators. A thousand units running is a sample large enough to have found those, and a fleet small enough that the company still knows what each one is doing.
The named deployments carry the weight. BMW and Amazon are not indulgent customers; they measure throughput and remove things that do not improve it. Two generations of platform sustained at those sites is a stronger signal than any unit count.
Set against Tesla's 50,000 cumulative units, the comparison clarifies the market. One company is optimising for production capacity, the other for verified placement, and the industry has not yet reached the point where those converge.
The question for the next four quarters is retention — whether pilot sites renew. Deployments are announced; withdrawals are not, and that asymmetry is where the honest picture is hiding.
